Marina del Este
Puerto Deportivo Marina del Este is one of the few marinas along this stretch of coast. Located between La Herradura and Almunecar it was developed around a large rock known as Peñón de las Caballas. It is very private and quiet and a great place to stop off for a rest when you are sailing. Many boat services are available along with art galleries, bars, restaurants, boutiques and more. Marina del Este has a great atmosphere. It is peaceful and beautiful with clear views to Almunecar. The restaurants and bars along the waterfront all have outdoor seating and the quality of the food is very good. It’s a great place to grab a drink with friends or enjoy a good meal by the water.
Costa Tropical (Where the mountains kiss the sea)
The Costa Tropical comprises the coastline of Granada and is so named because of the effects of a micro climate giving the weather characteristics of a sub tropical location.
Along much of this dramatic coastline, the mountains drop straight into the sea. Thus forming a number of stunning headlands, protected coves and beaches. Water sports and scuba diving are popular, thanks to the variety of sea life and clarity of the water.
Dating back to Roman and Phoenician times, the region shows strong characteristics of both of these cultures and has a wealth of attractions which include castles, bridges, aqueducts, necropolises and much, much more.
With warm winters and long hot summers, the average year round temperature is around 20 C.
